Many schemes are being run by the government to empower women. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started a scheme for the women of Odisha on his birthday, named Subhadra Yojana. Through this scheme, women will be given Rs 10,000 in two installments. Any woman from 21 to 60 years of age in Odisha can apply to avail this scheme. Through this scheme, Rs 10,000 will be sent to the accounts of women in two installments. This scheme was started for 5 years. The state government has presented a budget of Rs 55,825 crore for this scheme. Subhadra Yojana is a Kalyani scheme started by the Odisha government to promote economic and social empowerment for women. Through this, women can become self-reliant to start their own business.
Who can apply for Subhadra Yojana
- Any woman who is a native of Odisha can avail the benefits of this scheme.
- The woman’s name should be linked to the ration card under the National Food Security Act or State Food Security Scheme.
- To avail the benefits of the scheme, the family income of the woman should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.
- Women between 21 to 60 years of age can apply for this scheme.
Benefits of the scheme
- Further, if you are a tax payee then you cannot avail the benefit of this scheme.
- If you get a pension of Rs 1500 or more than Rs 18,000 annually under the government scheme, then you cannot avail the benefit of this scheme.
- If a woman is a former MLA or currently an MP, then she cannot apply for this scheme.
- If someone from the woman’s family is currently a former MP or MLA, then only the woman cannot avail the benefit of the scheme.
- Apart from this, except ward member or councillor, elected public representatives of any urban local body or Panchayati Raj institution cannot avail this benefit.
