PM Surya Ghar Mukti Bijli Yojana was launched by the Prime Minister on 15 February 2024. With the launch of this scheme, now those citizens who were unable to install solar panels due to money, can now easily install solar panels on their roof. Under this scheme, one crore houses will be able to get up to 300 units of free electricity every month. Under this scheme, eligible people will be given a subsidy of 40% to 60% of their total cost on solar panels. Apart from this, money will be earned by selling the extra electricity generated. This solar panel will not only reduce electricity but will also reduce carbon emissions in the environment by promoting the use of clean energy. As emerging solar manufacturers and EPC players, this announcement inspires us to increase our solar PV module manufacturing as well as optimize EPC services. The government aims to reduce electricity consumption by installing solar panels in all the houses in the country.

- The applicant for this scheme must be an Indian citizen and his minimum age should be 18 years.
- Subsidy will also be given only to Indian citizens.
- There should be space available to install solar panels on the citizen’s roof.
- The citizen must have all the original documents.
- The family should have electricity connection.

How to apply for this scheme online
- To apply for the Solar Rooftop Scheme, visit the official website pmsuryaghar.gov.in . There you will see the option related to register on the PM Surya Ghar portal, after completing which you will have to complete the process of registration.
- You have to select your state and then select the electricity distribution company. Here you will be asked for electricity consumer number, mobile number, email ID, and other information. You have to fill all those details and submit it.
- After this, you will have to complete the logging process by clicking on the option related to logging. Then after logging in to the application form, you will have to fill in all the information and submit the form.
- After that, you have to wait for some time for DISCOM approval. When the approval is received, the solar plant has to be installed. After entering the information related to the plant, you have to complete the process of applying for net meter.
- Now a commissioning certificate will be generated and as soon as you get the certificate, you have to enter the bank account related information on the portal and submit it. After a few days of processing, you will be provided subsidy in your bank account.
