This scheme is for those who are the only girl child in their family and are unable to study further due to poor financial condition. Through this scheme, such girls will be given a scholarship of Rs 36,200 every year. This scholarship will be for only two years, that is, it will be applicable till the duration of the post graduation course.

Benefits of the scholarship scheme
- Under this scheme, girls will be given financial assistance of Rs 36200 for doing post graduation. This assistance will be given only for two years.
- More than 3000 scholarships will be provided every year, the benefits of which will be given directly through DBT.
- The benefit of this scheme will be given only to such families who have a girl as their child.
- This amount will be transferred directly to the account.
Eligibility for Scholarship
- To apply he/she must be a citizen of India.
- To apply, the girl’s age should be below 30.
- Those girls can apply for this scheme who have no one in their family or they have twins. There should be only one girl child in the applicant’s family.

How to do the application process
- To apply for Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship Scheme, you have to visit the official website https://www.ugc.gov.in/Home .
- After that you will see Applicant Corner written on the home page of the website.
- In which you will have to click on the option of new registration.
- After this, the registration form of the scheme will come in front of you, in which you will have to fill all the information carefully.
- After this the document will have to be scanned and uploaded.
- After completing the whole form process you have to click on submit.
