Gaon ki Beti Yojana: Daughters of Madhya Pradesh will get 500 rupees every month for their studies

There are many small villages in Madhya Pradesh where there are many meritorious girls. Even after passing 12th standard, the girls want to study but the colleges are located in cities and districts far away from their villages. Many poor families do not have the financial condition to afford higher education for girls. Due to these reasons, the girls are unable to study further. The Madhya Pradesh government has started a scheme to educate the girls further. Its name is Gaon Ki Beti Yojana. All the girls of the villages of the state should not face any problem in getting education.

Objective of the scheme

The government’s objective with this scheme is to raise the level of education of girls. There are many girls who are unable to study due to lack of money and are unable to fulfill their dreams. Only the daughters of the village are included in the scheme. Through this scheme, the daughters of the village who have completed their studies up to 12th class are provided this scholarship to help them in their further higher education. Through the Gaon Ki Beti Yojana, the daughters of the village will invest the money received from this scheme in their studies. With this, the daughters will also overcome problems related to studies and will be able to move forward on their own by becoming self-reliant.

Benefits of the scheme

  • There are brilliant girls in every village. After passing 12th she wants to study in college but colleges are in cities and towns, also, most of the families are not in a position to afford the college education of girls, in that case, this scheme will help them.
  • The main objective of the Village Daughter Scholarship Scheme is to increase the level of education of girls.
  • This scholarship will be provided every year for 10 months at the rate of Rs 500 per month.
  • To avail the benefits of this scheme, girl students do not need to visit any government office.

Eligibility for the scheme

  • The student should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The student should be a resident of the village.
  • The girl student should be residing in the village and have passed the 12th class from the village school with a minimum of 60% marks and should be studying in the graduation class in a government/private college or university. 
  • The student must have obtained 60% or more marks in class 12th.
  • The name of the girl’s family should be below the poverty line.
