Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is a scheme launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Vishwakarma Day on 17 September 2023. This scheme was announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 15 August 2023. The objective of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is to provide assistance to traditional artisans and craftsmen to enhance their products and services. Under this scheme, artisans and craftsmen will be recognized as “Vishwakarma” and will be made eligible to receive all the benefits under the scheme. Also, suitable training will be arranged to enhance their skills. They will be taught to use modern equipment to increase their capacity and productivity. Also, there will be a provision to provide loans without any security and loan with interest waiver to the interested beneficiaries.

Eligibility for Vishwakarma Yojana
This scheme covers artisans and craftsmen engaged in 18 occupations. People who work with hands and tools and work in the unorganized sector on a self-employment basis. They are engaged in a traditional occupation, which is any one of the 18 family-based occupations. They should be at least 18 years of age on the date of registration. They should be engaged in the relevant occupation on the date of registration. They should not have availed the benefit of loan-based schemes of the central or state government in the last five years. However, beneficiaries of Mudra and PM Swanidhi Yojana who have repaid their loans are eligible under this scheme.
Carpenter, boat maker, goldsmith, armor maker, blacksmith, hammer and tool kit maker, potter, sculptor, stone carver/stone breaker, shoe maker, mason, basket maker/mat maker/coir weaver/broom maker, doll/toy maker, barber, washerman, tailor and fishing net maker. Registration and benefits under this scheme can be availed by one member of the family. To avail the benefits of the scheme, husband, wife, unmarried children will be considered in a family. Under the scheme, this benefit will be given to the family, which should not have a government job.
Benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana
- Through this scheme, all the craftsmen and artisans will be given scheme benefits.
- All beneficiaries will be given Rs 500 per day during the training.
- After successful completion of the training, Rs 15,000 will be provided to the beneficiaries.
- Apart from this, certificates will also be given to the beneficiaries who complete the training.
- A person who wants to start an industry will be given a loan of Rs 3 lakh.
- Under this scheme , a loan of Rs 300000 is given at 5% interest, in which a loan of Rs 100000 is given in the first phase, which has to be repaid in 18 months.
- In the second phase, a loan of Rs 200000 is available, which has to be repaid in 36 months.
Eligibility for Vishwakarma Yojana
In this scheme, artisans and craftsmen who work with their hands and tools are helped.
- Under the scheme, the age of the applicant should be between 18 to 40 years.
- Both men and women will be considered eligible through this scheme.
- The applicant must have all the required documents.
- No member of the applicant’s family should be in a government job.

How to fill Vishwakarma Yojana online form?
- Visit the official PM Vishwakarma Yojana website pmvishwakarma.gov.in .
- Login to the CSC portal using your user ID and password. After that the application form will open.
- After that, scan and upload all your required documents.
- After this you have to submit the form and after this the training related information will be presented.
- Now you can go to the training center and take training after seeing all the training related information.
- Finally you have to click on the submit button.
