Bihar Intercaste Marriage Scheme has been started by the Bihar government. The aim of this scheme is to eliminate the caste system prevalent in the society and bring people closer to each other. The government wants people to rise above the bondage of caste and marry on the basis of love and equality. Under this scheme, if a person marries a person from another caste, the government will provide them financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh. This amount helps the new couple to settle down and start a new life. This scheme has been started to eliminate the caste system prevalent in the society and bring social equality. When people marry in different societies, it will help in reducing discrimination based on caste.

Benefits of Bihar Intercaste Marriage Promotion Scheme
- Under this scheme, all the married couples of the state who do inter-caste marriage will be given incentive money.
- The married couple will be given financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh as incentive.
- If the beneficiary provides any wrong information to avail the benefits of this scheme, the incentive amount will be taken back from the beneficiary by the government.
- To receive the incentive amount under this scheme, it is mandatory for the beneficiary to submit pre-stopped receipt.
- If a disabled boy or girl marries inter-caste, he or she will also be given assistance of three lakh rupees. The director said that the amount of the incentive scheme is a fixed deposit for three years.
Eligibility for Bihar Intercaste Marriage Promotion Scheme
- Only permanent residents of Bihar should be eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.
- Under this scheme, one of the husband or wife should be from Scheduled Caste and the other should be from non-Scheduled Caste.
- The marriage must be legally recognised and registered under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955. An affidavit of the validity of the marriage must be submitted by the couple.
- There will be no incentive for second or subsequent marriage.
- Application must be made within one year of marriage.
- At the time of marriage, the bride must be at least 18 years of age and the groom must be at least 21 years of age.
- The bride and groom should be from poor families.

Process to apply
- First of all, you have to get the application form for this scheme. For this, you have to visit the official website state.bihar.gov.in/socialwelfare.
- After this, you will have to go to the homepage. After this, you will see an option of inter-caste marriage, you will have to click on it. After this, the form of Bihar Inter-Caste Scheme will open.
- Now you have to download the form of this scheme. You have to take an A4 size printout of this.
- After that, fill the information requested in this form carefully. After this, attach the requested documents with the form. After this, the form will have to be submitted in the department related to this scheme.
